Diversion Build
I started working on this build when I saw the thread 'Mantra recovery - Let me throw out some ideas'
So far I have this:
Attributes: - 12 Fast Casting (11+1)
- 14 Domination (10+4)
- 11 Inspiration (10+1)
Skills- Diversion (Hex Spell. For 6 seconds, the next time target foe uses a skill, that skill takes an additional seconds to recharge)
- Mantra of Recovery (Elite Stance. For 17 seconds, Spells you cast recharge 50% faster)
- Drain Enchantment (Spell. Remove an Enchantment from target foe. If an Enchantment is removed, you gain 19 Energy)
- Guilt (Hex Spell. For 10 seconds, the next time target foe casts a Spell that targets a foe, the Spell fails and you steal 13 Energy from that foe)
- Wastrel's Worry (Hex Spell. After 3 seconds, target foe takes 60 damage. Wastrel's Worry ends prematurely if that foe uses a skill)
- Other skill (I was thinking about something like Backfire, to shut down another caster)
- Other skill (Energy management: inspired hex, leech signet, power drain)
- Res Signet
The idea is to spam diversion. Mantra of Recovery to spam Diversion even more . Wastrel's Worry so they take damage if they don't cast a spell while diversion is active. Drain enchantment and Guilt for my energy management. Res signet because you always need res .
I this build any good, and do you have any ideas to fill in the last 2 slots? I think energy management will be a problem, but I don't know what other skills to take.
-Ruben
(PS. Sorry for my bad english )

I run something similiar and usually take backfire or power leak as the other skills, and use empathy instead of distortion. It works pretty well.

eurhm.. Wild Blow... The stance is lost. The burn mesmer gets on your *** and your energy is gone. Ofcourse 1 single mesmer shutdown build will kill your skills too..
Vs IWAY its useless. They pack Natures most of the time. (the one that doubles hexes). Most smart monks have Holy Veil too or the Purity one. Little use, even more hexes.

I run something similar in Random Arenas and it's actually fun.
Diversion
Arcan Echo
Wastrels Worry
Drain Enchantment
Mantra of Recall
Power Drain
Leech sig
Res Sig
Basically, The first 3 are for spamming diversion, wastrels is to pressure the oppononet to using something. The next 4 sklls are energy managemnt and interrupt: Leech Sig to interrupt Res sigs. Drain Enchant because it messes with people in RA.
Then a res sig. BEcause you need one :P
And it works well. The only slow time is when You're waiting for echo to come back so you can use diversion roughly every 5 seconds. And the energy management I have is useually enough to work well.
For things like shame, backfire, etc, they don't belong in this build. The point is to get people to cst through diversion, thus stopping their casting. I'd rather have 50 seconds of no more key skills than 10 seconds of scarce casting through backfire.

TGgold, Mantra of Recall and Power Block are both elites, you could not have tried that in Pvp.

Sorry, I made a typo. It was Power Drain I meant, thus why it was in my energy management section ^_~

personally, i'd use archane echo+diversion, would allow you to absolutly shut down fast-cast mesmers and protection monks, who rely on the ability to fire off 1 spell, immidiatly followed by another.
throw in backfire, and power-spike, for the "remove hex"...and you're golden.
